Climate
Generally cool winters and mild summers, but mild winters and hot summers along the Mediterranean; occasional strong, cold, dry, north-to-northwesterly wind known as mistral. This balmy climate allows a broad range of vegetation to flourish, and provides the area with a unique cuisine.

Qualifications
To charter a sailing yacht in French Riviera it is only necessary for one crew member to have a good skipper resume.
Bareboat motoryachting is only allowed under 35 feet, a nautical licence is mandatory.
